Can I set things up without joining the AP? I'd rather plug directly into my router.
Yes. AP mode is just one of several access methods. If you have a router, we recommend skipping the AP and connecting the Master directly to the router with a LAN cable.
- Connect the Master LAN port to your router with a LAN cable
- Check the assigned IP on the OLED System Info page (cycle pages with the front button)
- Open that IP in a browser on a PC connected to the same network
- Complete the rest of the setup (switcher integration, etc.) from that PC on the same network
Can I connect the Master directly to the switcher, 1:1, without a router?
Yes. You can plug the Master LAN port directly into the switcher. A direct link has no DHCP server, so you must set a static Ethernet IP in the switcher's subnet.
- Check or set the IP the switcher uses (e.g. ATEM default 192.168.10.240)
- In the Master Web UI under Network → Ethernet Settings, turn DHCP off and enter a static IP in the same subnet (e.g. IP 192.168.10.100 / Subnet 255.255.255.0 / Gateway 192.168.10.240)
- On the Switcher page, enter the switcher IP (e.g. 192.168.10.240) in the slot and set Interface to Ethernet
I accidentally flashed the Receiver firmware onto my Master (transmitter). Is it recoverable?
Yes, it recovers. With Receiver firmware on a Master, the Web UI and AP no longer appear and the OLED boots with the Receiver screens — but the hardware is not damaged.
- Hold the front BOOT button, press and release the bottom RESET once, then release BOOT (download mode)
- In the web flasher (/flash/license), explicitly select the Transmitter card and flash the Master firmware again
Is it compatible with all Blackmagic switchers? Will it work with an ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K?
TALLY-NODE integrates with ATEM switchers over the Blackmagic protocol (UDP 9910). Supported switchers are ATEM, OBS, vMix, and OSEE.
The following ATEM models have actually been tested:
- ATEM Television Studio Series
- ATEM Mini Series
- ATEM Constellation Series
Models not on the list are expected to work as long as they use the same protocol, but we can only guarantee the tested models.
On switchers with 2 or more M/Es, can tally be split per M/E?
Only 1 M/E is currently supported. 2–4 M/E configurations were not part of the development scope.
